Good news - bad news

Today began on a very sad note. We arrived at the NICU expecting things to be as we left them the night before. We arrived to find the nurse giving Ethan oxygen. Shortly thereafter she said they were going to hook him up to an oxygen tube. Which they did. Then they said they needed to stick him again to put in a new IV. There were many tears in the nursery...and they were not Ethan's.

So they stuck an IV in poor Ethan's head. He has tubes and wires running every which but loose. Still, he's been a trooper through it all. Tough little man!



Later, the Doctor came in and said they found an infection in the placenta and that is what caused the infection in his lungs and body. So, they are going to put him on antibiotics for 5-7 days. He will have to stay at the hospital NICU for that time. It will be another week before we can take our little man home.
